Who We Are

The New Mexico Society for Healthcare Strategy & Market Development (NM/SHSMD) chapter is one of the leading professional organizations dedicated to providing education and networking opportunities for healthcare professionals working in New Mexico.

Currently, members are engaged in healthcare marketing, managed care, and physician integration activities and are employed by hospitals, healthcare providers, managed care plans and consulting firms across the state.

NM/SHSMD is affiliated with The Society for Healthcare Strategy & Market Development of the American Hospital Association, a national organization with over 4000 members focused on addressing the ongoing strategic, organizational and financial challenges occurring in the rapidly evolving healthcare field.

Our Goals

The objectives of NM/SHSMD are to enhance the professional development among our members by:

• Encouraging and assisting members to increase their knowledge and proficiency in the field of healthcare marketing and public relations.
• Encouraging cooperation between New Mexico healthcare associations in matters pertaining to healthcare public relations and marketing.
• Bringing about closer cooperation among members to promote individual effectiveness and to provide a medium for the interchange of ideas and employment opportunities; for the dissemination of material relative to healthcare marketing and public relations; and by conducting regular meetings and educational programs.
